Flexa strengthens its role as a technology partner with a new successful installation: the Miura automatic cutting system at Elwi Srl, an Italian company founded on the vision of Stefano Mies and owner of the OMSTRIP brand.

Flexa Automates OMSTRIP Patch-Cutting

OMSTRIP is a patented 100% Made in Italy technology in the wellness and sports performance sector. It is a bio-photonic device applied directly to the skin, supporting the body’s natural balance without releasing any chemical substances. An innovative product that helps rebalance the nervous system, improve microcirculation, optimize muscle performance, and reduce recovery time. OMSTRIP patches have rapidly gained market traction, driving a growing need for increased production capacity.

Before the introduction of Miura, patch cutting was performed manually, requiring a dedicated operator and significantly impacting time and costs. “We were working with manual cutting, which was extremely time-consuming,” says Stefano Mies of Elwi Srl. “We immediately realized we needed an automated solution to support our growth.”

The need to increase speed and volumes while maintaining high quality standards made automation a strategic necessity. The solution developed by Flexa perfectly meets these requirements. The Miura automatic cutting system stands out for its ability to combine precision and speed in a single platform, enabling the simultaneous cutting of up to 8 strips.

This feature translates into a tangible boost in productivity and the ability to effectively meet growing market demand. “Having both precision and speed in a single machine has been a major upgrade,” continues Mies. “The ability to cut multiple strips at the same time represents a real step forward.”

The results are clear: production capacity has increased from 100 to 1,000 packs per day, with a significant reduction in processing time. “We moved from producing 100 boxes per day to 1,000 in half the time. The main benefit? Dramatically reduced time and costs,” states Stefano Mies.

Product quality remains consistent, with perfect batch uniformity and extremely low material waste. Beyond performance, the installation process also confirmed Flexa’s customer-orientated approach. “The installation was very simple, supported by excellent assistance. What we appreciated most was the Flexa team’s availability and flexibility,” emphasizes Mies. A collaborative effort that led to the development of a tailored solution, perfectly integrated into existing production processes.

For an innovative company like Elwi, the introduction of Miura represents not only an operational improvement but also a driver for further development. “Automation has supported innovation and allowed us to enhance internal processes that had become outdated,” adds Mies. The installation of Miura marks a significant milestone in OMSTRIP’s growth journey, strengthening production capacity and reinforcing its market positioning.
