Covid-19 pandemic and measures to boost profitability have considerable impact on figures for FY 2019/20
During a challenging financial year 2019/20 (April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020), business operations at Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (Heidelberg) was impacted by the increasingly deteriorating economic environment caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on preliminary figures yet to be audited, Group sales amounted to € 2,349 million, some 6 percent down on the previous year.

Smithers forecasts the global security printing market to reach $36 billion in 2024

Smithers latest market report, ‘The Future of Global Security Printing to 2024’ forecasts the global security printing market value will increase from $29.5 billion in 2019 to $36.0 billion by 2024, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.1%.

Printers adapting to challenging market conditions by successfully launching new products and services

Purchase of two extra Anapurna printers enhances Artlab’s productivity while also expanding media scope
At the end of 2019, Artlab.pl (Warsaw, Poland) invested in two new large-format UV LED inkjet printers from Agfa. The Anapurna RTR3200i LED roll-to-roll printer will improve the printing company’s production on flexible substrates. The other engine is a true flatbed printer, the Anapurna FB2540i LED. Just like the hybrid Anapurna H3200i LED large-format printer that Artlab.pl acquired only two years earlier, both engines make use of UV LED curing technology, which enables printing on a wider range of substrates, including heat-resistant materials.

Memjet announces unexpected death of CEO Len Lauer
On April 13, Len Lauer, CEO of Memjet, passed away unexpectedly at his home in La Jolla, California. He was 62 years old. Lauer was named the CEO of Memjet in 2010 and assumed the role of Chairman in 2012.

Fespa Brasil 2020 announces new dates and schedule
